Description

  • Most common tumor of the pituitary gland
  • May secrete hormones or cause mass effect
  • Defined as microadenoma < 10 mm and macroadenoma ≥ 10 mm
  • Subtypes (hormonal): Prolactinoma (PRL), corticotropinoma (ACTH), thyrotropinoma (TSH), somatotropinoma (GH), gonadotropinoma (LH/FSH), null cell, mixed
